Committees' Night - no guest speaker.
On Monday night our meeting was relaxed and cheerful. Sergeant Ron wasn’t too hard on us and we dutifully formed into our individual committees after dinner. A couple of the committees were a bit thinly represented, but we stoically went about our business, encouraged by President Richard who spent some time with each.

Week's Parting Thought:

"Chairs were created because someone somewhere wanted to solve a big problem.  Sitting on rocks causes sore bottoms."
~ Bill Burnett

Our District conference is in Palmerston North, on the weekend of 11-13th May.  Mitch Brown’s conference promises to be a lively affair and it would be great to have a good turnout from our club.  It will include District training, so it’s important that as many incoming board members as possible attend.

For those looking to use hotel accommodation, there are arrangements with three hotels – approx. prices for two nights being Copthorne ($330) Distinction ($280) and Coachman ($260).  To give us an opportunity of being together, I’m putting a notice board round next Monday for members, without commitment, to indicate their preferences.

Can you please confer at home as to whether you are coming, or may come, and be ready to respond next Monday.  The outcome with be advised so people have the opportunity to gather at one hotel, if they prefer.

So far our numbers are 15, so there is room for many more!!
