Last Meeting: Rachel Heffernan - Public Trust
President Pat, proudly introduced his daughter Rachel, who is a legal executive of 16 years experience with the Crown entity, the Public Trust.  She gave very informative address covering the need and some legal and complicating issues regarding Wills and Enduring Power of Attorneys (EPA's).
Anyone with assets over $15,000 need a Will - this may only be a KiwiSaver account!  Without one complications and costs escalate.  A simple one is better than none at all!
She also touched on financial/elder abuse and how the Public Trust works with its clients to minimize this criminal issue.  Sharing a few examples, it became clear how this can happen and what is required to reduce it.
