The meeting of the Club on September 21st was addressed by Chris Eales, District Governor Elect. He was asked to clarify for us what a “Vibe” might be when applied to a Rotary meeting. * “If an excellent Club experience is provided, the Club will grow.” * “There must be some fun with the work.” So: 1) The meetings must be enjoyable and the members must feel included. 2) There must be confidence in Club Leadership. 3) There should be Personal growth opportunities. 4) Connections. Formation of new and valuable relationships. 5) The effort that is expended must feel valuable.

Absences from Rotary
If you are going to be absent from Rotary for any length of time please let Mike Fackney know so he does not put you on the roster while you are away.
New Deadline for Reporting Absence from Monday Evening Rotary Meeting
At the last Board meeting of Eastern Hutt Rotary, there was discussion regarding minimising food wastage from the meal provided for us all.
The Board decided that giving earlier notice to Chalet Catering of absences would help achieve less wastage - this being because some of the food preparation takes place on a Sunday afternoon.
The Board now asks that, from now on, all absences from Monday night Rotary meetings should be communicated to Tony Cornelius by 7pm Friday evening - NOT left till Sunday.
Mayor Ken Laban Visit – 28 September
Mayor Ken is interested in your honest feedback on:
• What matters most to members when it comes to Council's priorities and spending
• Any specific concerns, ideas, or opportunities you'd like Council to consider in the Long-Term Plan (LTP)
• What's currently "top of mind" for you as an organisation - challenges, wins, or anything Council should know about.
Save the date. Eastern Hutt Rotary will be assisting at this event at the Royal Wellington Golf Club on Friday 26 February.

James Wheeler provided the 'parting thought' at the end of the meeting -
