It is about time authorities did something about older drivers on our roads.
For far too long older drivers have caused havoc as they hog the left lane, stick to the speed limits (even at road works) and stop at stop signs causing great inconvenience, and often causing others doing whatever they like.
Another major concern is that avoiding fines and demerit points, they are not doing their bit for the revenue of New Zealand, therefore placing further burdens on young drivers.
Until older drivers can prove they are proficient at weaving in and out of traffic, texting while driving, tailgating or doing burn outs, they must be banned from holding a driver's license.
Your presence at this event will not only honour our 2023-24 leaders but inspire and support our incoming 2024-25 team. Shared transport a possibility.
If you are interested in going please contact Jaye.
Last Friday’s quiz/auction evening raised nearly $6000 for the Wellington Free Ambulance and was regarded as a successful and entertaining event, with 103 people in attendance. There was spirited bidding for the auction items, led by Quiz master and Auctioneer, Ray Wallace. Prizes were awarded to the top two teams. Thanks to all who assisted and supported this fundraising project.
I recently presented Usborne Dictionaries to year 4 students at Taita Central School and St Michaels School. The dictionaries were very well received by the students.

Parting Thought
Jaye provided the parting thought at the end of the meeting. Jaye added the proviso however that it probably WASN’T a very good example to follow!
" They sit there in committees day after day and they each put in a colour and it comes out grey. We have all heard the saying, which is true as well as witty, that a camel is a horse that was designed by a committee."
