Guest Speaker Tony Heyward
On Monday evening we had the pleasure of having Tony Heyward, Deputy Chair of Rotary Zone 8 Regional Council, talk about the new Regionalisation Pilot. There are only two regions carrying out this Pilot. The other region is UK & Ireland.

The prime reason for the Pilot is “to reverse the decline in membership and increase the reach and impact of Rotary and Rotaract in Zone 8”. Zone 8 includes New Zealand, Australia, and other South Pacific nations.

Parting Thought

Immediate Past President John Matthews provided the parting thought at the end of our meeting -
1. Approaching friends/family/neighbours/colleagues to help with Rotray projects and events I think has merit and is a way to get more people involved in our community efforts - with a long term goal of maybe bringing them on as members if they wish.

2. Lisa Carrington is still my favourite New Zealander and even more so now. She is simply an incredible human being. I'm going to be lost now on what to watch on TV ...... until the Paralympic's are on in 10 days time!
