From Pat's Changeover Speech:
"I have really enjoyed my year as your President, maybe not the first 3 months though, but once I knew what I was doing things were great. It is full on and I was glad I retired to do the job."
"When our District Governor Marion Johnston visited us she said we were doing all the right things. Marion wanted Rotary to be more involved with the community and not just a bank. We did that by....." [read Pat's full speech here]

Sapphire Pin: President Pat awarded a Sapphire Pin to Judy Dearsley to augment her Paul Harris Fellowship Medal for her long service to the Club, including eight years as Secretary, two years as Programme Director, and her fund-raising, as well as for her other community activities.  Her family joined us in the celebration.

Parting Thought: offered by incoming President Robert Sinclair

“I've heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led to those who help us most to grow
If we let them and we help them in return.”

Bulletin Contribution

Tuesday mornings. Term time.

For over 15 years I’ve been involved with the Probus Reading programme. I started with the second intake of those willing to listen to children learn to read. The programme started in the decile 1 schools of Rātā Street in Naenae, Pomare in Taita, and Epuni at Fairfield in the Hutt Valley.  At the time the programme was started there were not enough volunteers to put it into more decile 1 schools. The programme is the brain child of Rotary. It is still in the original schools. Each of the schools could do with more helpers either on a regular basis or on the relieving list. We also need more men to do it.

* Upcoming Calendar:  Take a look at what's coming up in the next few months.  This website calendar is updated regularly, so it will help you be ahead, and keep track of our dates and events.  It's easy so here's how....

Go to our Website first, then look at Calendar, you will see 3 options, "Speakers", "Events Calendar" and "Rotary Calendar".  The latter is what's happening in the District, if you want to see this.  However, go back to Events Calendar to see what's happening with us and you will see 3 options.  These are: Calendar, Grid and List.  Have a look at all three and pick the one that suits you best.  I like List or Grid and you can print out the one that you like best.
