Kia ora Koutou. I’m writing this on a cold and blustery Tuesday morning, with the heat pump blaring, a hoodie zipped up to my neck and too cold to change out of my gym gear. Looking out the window, the sky is bleak one way and blue the other. Let’s hope it makes up its mind which way it wants to go soon, and that it makes the right decision.
Thank you all for participating so well in the Club Forum last evening. I felt it was very productive and we received a great deal of information in a relatively small amount of time. A huge mention to our very able Directors who, through their limited time but vast expertise, have accomplished so much within their committees to be proud of.
Thank you also for all the very kind messages I have received pertaining to my daughter and for your understanding of the change of plans at the very last minute perse. Safe to say, it has been a very worrying time for us as a family and we are not out of the woods yet. Hopefully the brain scan etc will shed some light on what is happening and provide a way forward.
I feel we have made the right decision as a club to open our President Nominees to include those who have previously served in this position and to further include a job share status, that will allow for flexibility in members lives. We must move with the times and this is a good step. Having thought a great deal about it, I also feel the right decision has been made to reflect on our subscription to Club Runner at least for the next year. The newsletter is but one piece of the puzzle when it comes to having our Website easily accessible and promotable to other clubs, and hopefully potential future Rotarians.
Last but not least. During notices I advised that the Eastern Hutt Rotary Charitable Trust Board (whew! A big mouthful), is open for the appointment of a new Trustee. I am calling for expressions of interest to be emailed to me by Sunday 14th June please, so they can be considered at the next Board meeting. My email address is Glenda.barratt@outlook.com
Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.
