A highly successful fashion show fundraiser was organised by the Youth Committee and held at Ballentynes Fashion Central, Lower Hutt, on Wednesday 22 October. A record number of ticket sales (87), plus a number of generous donations, resulted in a record sum of $2,800 being raised.
These funds will support our Usborne Illustrated Dictionary project, through which we present these greatly valued books, to every Year 4 student at 4 local primary schools.
Spring and Summer fashion items were very capably modelled by:
Jaye Howey, June Stratton, Sandy Fackney, Robyn Wheeler and Jenny Keehan.
An additional interest to the evening was the drawing of lucky ticket prizes.
A good number of items had been donated, resulting in a major basket, plus
6 smaller ‘parcels’. Ballentynes very kindly gave each person who attended a pair of slipper socks that were appreciated by all. They also gave 3 gift vouchers and all ticket holders were entitled to 20% discount off any purchases.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening!
