On behalf of Mary Houston, wife of our late club member Richard, who has kindly made a generous donation to improve the garden at the Dementia Unit at Enliven Rest Home in Lower Hutt, our club has taken on the task of providing the people power to do the work.

So far the area has been water blasted.  Thanks to Joe Tomlinson and his son who volunteered to do this for us.  The decking has had two coats of stain and the planter boxes have been stained and weeded and planted with miniature citrus trees and lavender.  This was a big job requiring 20 litres of Resene Earthsong stain and twenty-six hours of volunteer labour.  The decks and planter boxes look so much better now.

Barrie Littlefair took the seats away to the Menz Shed at Eastbourne.  He has repaired one and is replacing the other rotten one with a new seat.   The Camelias which were about to block the lounge windows have been transplanted to another garden and Hydrangeas have been planted in their place.

Many thanks go to Barrie Littlefair, Paul Giles, Robin Fenwick, Brian Klee, Tony Cornelius, Gary Stratton, David Thompson, Christine Meredith and my partner Ian Dopson for their great work.
