A lovely start to the New Year
Thank you everyone for the relaxed but happy atmosphere beginning the New Year for Rotary 2026.  It was lovely seeing everyone again and catching up with what has been happening in your lives.
A big thank you to our brilliant BBQ experts, Ron and Paul, not forgetting the kitchen servers and chefs Tony, Shelley and June.  Our meal was delicious and appropriate after battling a few days of horrendous winds.
This evening saw a brief time of remembrance for our dear friend Russell Good who sadly passed away just recently.  I am sure there will be many attending his farewell at the Knox Church Wednesday 14th January at 12 noon.  When speaking with her, Marion made particular mention of Russell's pride at being honoured with a Paul Harris Fellow Award and of how his involvement with Rotary was an important facet to his life.
It promises to be a busy year ahead, with six months remaining in my reign as President.  I am looking forward to continuing to support the overall promise one makes as a Rotarian, that of community service, caring for others, promoting the Rotary values and introducing others into an organisation ‘second to none’.
Mother Teresa says it quite perfectly:
We can do no great things, only small things with great love.
Have a wonderful two weeks and we will meet again on the 26th January
