Pink Ribbon Devonshire Tea

Our Pink Ribbon Devonshire Tea was a great success and that was thanks to a huge team effort.  We raised $400.00 for this very worthy cause and had a lot of fun on the way.
On a personal note and as a new Rotarian I was blown away by the support I got from my fellow Rotarians, their wives and husbands and the Inner Wheel ladies.

The generosity of our sponsors was hugely appreciated making it such a great event:
  • Chalet Caterers for the scones, jam, cream so beautifully presented and they also allowed us the use of their teacups, plates and mugs
  • Robert Sinclair for a fantastic gift basket for the raffle
  • Eastern Hutt Rotary for funding the use of the hall
On the morning our band of hard-working helpers included:
  • Dave and his lovely Jenny (she worked wonders with a pair of scissors to make the tablecloths fit!)
  • Jan, Glenda, and Howie for a fantastic effort doing dishes, setting tables and blowing up balloons and the many other behind-the-scenes jobs
Congratulations to Robin for winning the “pinkest” costume prize – he was rather sassy in his sparkly pink hat and “hint-of-pink” shirt.

The food, company, and cause were all so special.  Howie and I were on quite a high for the rest of the day and I’m very proud to be an Eastern Hutt Rotarian.

Bring it on for next year!!!
