Rotary District 9940 is very blessed indeed to have new District Governor, Carol Green. We were privileged to have Carol speak to us about the focus for the next year for all of Rotary. It was no surprise to anyone to hear that we must try our hardest to bring in new members. Suggestions of satellite clubs are now being discussed more than ever as we try to bring rotary into the forefront of the public minds.
We also need to remember for every dollar we donate to a young person is an opportunity to form a potential Interact club - something that is worth thinking about. Carol talked about the goal for the year to reach 1000 members. At present we are sitting at 988. How many of the 118 new members can Eastern Hutt Rotary commit to?
Carol was grateful for her time with us all and remarked that it was a privilege to meet up with old friends. She also loved our commitment to talk to new retirees as no one knows our communities better than active rotarians.
