Some settled dry weather over Kings Birthday weekend enabled us to complete this project for the hospice. Their outdoor furniture was looking rather tired and was in need of a refresh. We stripped & cleaned the timber surface, then applied two coats of furniture oil. In total there were 11 chairs, 3 coffee tables, 5 bench seats and an outdoor table.
Rachel Brandt (Volunteer Services Manager) intends to thank the club officially but her initial reaction in an email was: ‘Wow, I just went for a walk and looked at the furniture, what an amazing job you have done! Can’t thank you and the team enough. Definitely a job well done.’
A big thank you to the willing and capable team who gave their time and energy to make this project a success. As always, the reward for everyone’s efforts was a great morning tea – special thanks to Annette Ruck, Diane Littlefair, and Chris Giles.
There were also a number of ‘park benches’ needing attention. Because most of them required significant repair work that was beyond our capabilities, Barrie and the Menzshed will use their workshop facilities to carry out this work. Once again my thanks to everyone who has contributed to making this a successful project.
