Below is a letter received from Te Omanga Hospice thanking us for our support with their annual street collection. The amount raised this year is impressive considering the tough time folks are having at present with the state of the economy. It is apparently more than was raised last year!
"Kia ora Jan and Eastern Hutt Rotary,
A huge thank you from everyone at Te Omanga Hospice. Because of your commitment to our cause by organising your club members to collect donations at our recent Street Appeal, this has helped to raise an incredible $48,353.25. We are so grateful for this and know it wouldn't have been possible without your support.
Your support will make a meaningful difference. These funds go directly towards caring for patients across the Hutt Valley and supporting their families, ensuring they receive compassionate, specialist palliative care when they need it most, free of charge.
Your presence at the appeal also helped to create moments of connection within the community. We know the collectors will have experienced some of that generosity and kindness during their time collecting. I hope it was a good experience for them.
We are always striving to make the volunteering experience the best it can be. If you have any feedback, we would love to hear from you. Please just send a return email with any thoughts you have - big or small.
Once again, thank you for being part of something so impactful. We simply couldn’t do this without the generosity of you all.
Please pass on my thanks to the Rotary Club at the next meeting, if you haven't done so already."
Ngā mihi nui,
