Last year, Ross Barber spoke about the tragic truth around what women are subjected to when they do not have underwear.  Thanks to donations from members and friends, we were able to send over a couple of suitcases of both new and pre-owned items.

Many women from differing villages in Mozambique benefited from the very kind donation made from Eastern Hutt Rotary, under our Undies for Africa plea.

Not only were the donations of clothes etc., given, but the monetary donation allowed the organisers to purchase bras and underwear for the most vulnerable of women and children.  I for one never estimated the severe level of depravity and violence escalated to females in this region and it is humbling to know that Eastern Hutt Rotarians cared enough to support this extremely worthwhile venture. Linda and I cannot thank you enough from the bottom of our hearts.

At our casual meeting in January we saw this short video that Felio put together.  "This video shows the distribution and some stats on the underwear the Eastern Hutt Rotary gave directly for.  As you will see, your generous donation has gone a very long way and we all thankyou again – you and your Club are so very much appreciated".
