President Glenda reflected on a Rotary year she will long cherish, thanking members for braving a bleak evening to mark its close, and welcoming the incoming leadership. In conversations with past Presidents, Glenda learned that many consider this role the highlight of their Rotary lives. She emphasised the value of listening, the strength of relationships within the club, and the guiding importance of the Four-Way Test. Despite difficult economic times, inspiring speakers and meaningful projects - such as the ‘Walk for Mental Health’ and ‘Healthy in the Hutt’ - demonstrated Rotary’s positive impact.
During the year the Club enjoyed diverse presentations and successful events, including a popular Wine Tasting event. Glenda expressed a deep gratitude to all who contributed to fundraising, administration, and leadership. Looking ahead, she urged members to recruit new participants to ensure Rotary’s future and celebrate achievements like the near-eradication of polio. Finally, she handed the gavel to incoming President Robin with confidence in continued service.
