Our new member Eve was born into a traditional Chinese family on the South Coast of China, both parents are engineers. In the 1960s her parents moved to central China Anhui province and took their only child, Eve, with them. Eve grew up there before moving to New Zealand.
Eve started working as an administrator with China Ocean Shipping Company, the largest state-owned transport company in China. She was in charge of vessel’s supplies when vessels docked at overseas ports. Later the company expanded their service from vessels to aircrafts and Eve became an air freight agent dealing with cargo transportation between airlines nationally and internationally. After her first husband lost his battle with cancer, Eve decided to resign from the company she worked for more than ten years and move to New Zealand.
Eve started her new life in New Zealand in 2001 and has been working with MSD for the last 14 years and had played several roles from a customer service representative, customer service officer with senior service and assistant HR advisor at national office. In 2020 and 2021, Eve moved to Levin, became a real estate agent with Property Brokers. She sold 30 properties and became a multimillion club member in one and half years. While she worked in Levin she joined the Levin Rotary Club. The Rotary club helped her make New Zealand her home. She enjoyed meeting with other Rotarians and liked the concept of getting together to change lives. Due to family requirements, she returned to Lower Hutt in March 2022 and lives with her parents and one daughter. Eve transferred to Eastern Hutt Rotary Club, where she believes she can contribute to the local community. She joined MSD again and is now employed as a veterans pension officer with Senior Services.
