Like myself, I would think you are all thankful for our great speaker on Monday night. Our very own John Cole spoke about his ‘life and times’. It made for a very interesting session and one I am sure will be covered adequately in Jaye’s summary as his host.
We were reminded about the Quiz night coming up later this month from June, and how important it is to get our numbers in for table settings for the night. Don’t panic if you are only one person and not part of a team per se, as sometimes the most fun had, is with being on a table with people you don’t necessarily know well.
Brian Clarke asked for numbers interested in a tour of the Red Door facility. On the night there were very few who put up their hands. This will be during the day with a stop over for lunch. Please have a good think about it. I feel it will be a great opportunity for us to experience what it is like for the people who use the premises in their recovery. Colin Alford updated us on our good friend Paddy Wells and mentioned Paddy would be delighted to see any of you who wished to visit him at any given time.
We had a very entertaining Sergeant session with not one but two Sergeants. I have to say Paul ‘took the cake’ for being the most ruthless with the worst of the jokes. 😊
Today September 1st, is the first day of Spring and a lovely one at that. The nights are longer and the mornings lighter - got to be good for you! For those of you who follow our local Weather man Daniel Talbot, he has predicted we are in for some interesting times with a mixture of rain, wind and balmy weather. Just another Wellington day.
