On Friday night 15 November I was proud to be sitting in the audience watching the 2 degrees Business Excellence Awards and even prouder when our own Joe Tomlinson's business that he started 60 years ago was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Joe's son Ray accepted the Award on behalf of the company. He paid particular tribute to Joe having the faith, the foresight and the vision to get them to where they are today. This is a truly family business spear headed by both Joe and his wife Luisa and now Ray and the grandchildren all on board.
Speaking with the family during the night Ray was quite adamant that Joe's love of Rotary and Service to the Community has always been the motivation behind this company. It was truly evident to see the pride and the love not only for Joe but for this community as a whole.
Now known as JT Group, the Business is still operating from Epuni where they have very stable roots. Joe's love of technology means that today his business has produced products that are mindful of a sustainable future for all.
